Cindy de Leon Reilly | Tucson | Arizona State Advocate
Hi everyone, Cindy Reilly here!
I am here in Tucson! I came to Arizona in 1994 from southern California. My first outdoor experience was as a third grade Brownie. It was amazing and I fell in love with the outdoors since then.
I first got involved with Leave No Trace while attending a Leave No Trace Trainer course in 2001 at Shadow Rim Ranch Girl Scout Camp, near Payson, AZ. It was unexpectedly amazing! I became a Master Educator in 2004 through a Girl Scout scholarship. Girl Scouts gave me Leave No Trace…and I wanted to return the gesture through training and workshops! Now, I am the Council Outdoor Ethics Advocate for the BSA Catalina Council and am extensively involved with Boy Scouts and am working tirelessly to provide Leave No Trace!
My goal is to increase the awareness of Leave No Trace in Arizona. I hope to assist and coordinate with Trainers and Master Educators to get Leave No Trace out to the public across Arizona. I hope to foster communications among them and help facilitate training as much as possible.
I will make myself available as much as possible to work with various organizations and potential partners in getting the information disseminated. I encourage Trainers and Master Educators to continue to reach out and provide workshops and trainings to various groups and organizations. Let’s leave our mark by maximizing our impacts by getting Leave No Trace out to the public and educating them so they can minimize their impacts on our outdoor environment.
"But now, says the Once-ler, Now that you´re here, the word of the Lorax seems perfectly clear. UNLESS someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not." - Dr Seuss
