Nick Myers, Sevierville, TN State Advocate
Hi folks, I live in the Great State of Tennessee, in the city of Sevierville, close to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park…Being the State Advocate I would like to create a ready list of all the Master Educators, and Trainers who are doing work in their local areas, but also who go out of their comfort zone to teach the Leave No Trace message and principles. I’d like to see our State adopt these principles for all the state parks and recreational facilities within our state along with complete training of the state staff.
At present I am working with the local Boy Scout Council on teaching scouts and scoutmasters in the principles of Leave No Trace. I would like to pursue teaching awareness of the Leave No Trace principles to school students and active outdoor college students. I also like to continue pursuing training courses for adults. I believe that if more people are trained in the seven principles of Leave No Trace the better the message gets to people who can make a difference in saving the world from misuse.
