The Leave No Trace e-tour brings hands-on Leave No Trace demonstrations, interactive activities and general Leave No Trace education to select retail stores across the country from May through August. The team travels to retailers specializing in Coleman outdoor products in order to promote Leave No Trace information to kids and families. The e-tour provides basic Leave No Trace education programs that inspire youth to get outside while promoting responsible enjoyment of the outdoors.
Explore, Enjoy, Experience, Excitement, Expedition, Education
The e-tour provides hands-on educational workshops and information. Each retail stop is unique, from a half-hour workshop to a full-day booth display. These programs are designed to introduce kids to the outdoors and peak their interest in outdoor recreation and stewardship.
The Leave No Trace E-tour program is embarking on its second year. This year’s team consists of Kate Bullock and Tracy Howard. They met while playing basketball at Wheaton College in Norton, MA and have been enjoying each other’s company over the last ten years. After college, the two traveled to Europe for 6 weeks of backpacking in 7 countries. They were immediately hooked on exploration. As educators, summers became the prime time for road tripping across America. As a result the pair are determined to visit each of the country’s 58 National Parks. Thus far they have experienced 31 and counting. Combining their passions of educating and exploring, the girls are excited about traveling to new environments of the country and encountering lots of new people. Kate and Tracy enjoy snowboarding, cooking and tasting the local flavors of places they visit, taking pictures, seeking out hot springs, and long road trips.

Kate’s love for the outdoors began at an early age playing in the creek with her brother and sister behind her house in upstate New York. At age 10 she moved to Massachusetts, where her passion for the outdoors continued to grow. Being a collegiate student-athlete, Kate would enjoy hiking with her friends to unwind. After graduating college with a degree in Psychology, Kate continued her education by earning her Masters degree in Special Education. In 2007, Kate moved to Colorado to explore educational opportunities outside of the classroom. As a result, Kate spent the winter teaching snowboarding and received training to become a Leave No Trace Master Educator this past spring. Kate is excited for the E-tour because she will be able to combine her loves of traveling and teaching during three glorious months on the road. Some of Kate’s other interests include hiking, biking, playing bocce, disc golf, and cloud gazing.
Before she could walk, Tracy’s connection to the out of doors began in her fathers backpack while he was hiking and skiing. Growing up on six acres of land in Westwood, MA, Tracy and her five brothers and sisters spent countless hours building forts and creating their own adventures. The Howard clan spent summers on Cape Cod boating and fishing and winters up in Vermont skiing and snowboarding. Her connection with the outdoors and sports guided her collegiate studies toward Physical Education and Recreation. As a result, Tracy decided to become a Physical Education teacher in order to inspire children to be more active and get outside. Tracy continued her own education by earning her Masters degree in Education as well as becoming a Leave No Trace Master Educator. Tracy decided to move to Colorado in 2007 in order to enjoy the recreational opportunities the great state has to offer. She enjoys hiking (especially to waterfalls), biking, backpacking, skiing, playing Frisbee, boating, and viewing wildflowers. Tracy is looking forward to an adventurous summer on the road as E-tour.
